Access Road Closure (Southern End of A247 with A246 Junction)
08 May 2012 to 29 June 2012.
Visitors to Clandon Park Garden Centre may have experienced flooding at this junction (Clandon Road/Epsom Road/Shere Road Complex) after heavy rainfall. The inevitable
has happened and the Highways Department has decided to sort this out (before the
start of the Olympics?) now. We were not given enough notice to prepare for this disruption and despite vigorous requests for the closure to be postponed for proper consultation and preparation, our singular voice had fallen on deaf ears.
We are allowed only one access via Clandon Road (A247) from Ripley going South. This access is available only as far as Clandon Park Garden Centre, National Trust House, St Peter and St Paul Church - It will not allow access beyond.

Good News - We have secured temporary access via the "Temple Court" entrance to the Garden Centre, strictly between 9am to 5pm (with many thanks to the Onslow Estate). This entrance is opposite the "Merrow Park and Ride". It is 208 metres from the Park & Ride roundabout to the entrance (Driving towards East Clandon). This is a single track road and will be one way only. The exit from the Garden Centre will be as normal at the National Trust House.
